DOT DRUG TESTING DOT regulations require drug and alcohol testing of drivers, who are required to have a commercial driver's license(CDL). The following tests are required by FMCSA regulations and performed in accordance to 49 CFR Part 40 & 382:
DOT Drug testing is conducted by urine analysis. All positive drug test results are reviewed and interpreted by a Medical Review Officer(MRO) before they are reported to the employer. All urine specimens are analyzed for the fiollowing drugs:
NON-DOT DRUG TESTING If a DOT drug test is not necessary, employer's can save time by making use of our eScreen drug test system. eScreen gives an instant test and lab-based test options that report drug screen results via email into a secure Inbox system. Most negative results will be reported with-in about 15 minutes of an employee giving a specimen. Benefits to eScreen include:
COLLECTIONS If an employer is contracted with a specific Drug Testing Laboratory and has an assigned Medical Review Officer, our clinic will perform a Collection Only of the specimen using the lab's collection cup and required Chain of Custody forms provided by the employer or lab. All collections and required forms will be shipped to the designated laboratory for analysis.
BREATH ALCOHOL TESTING A screening test is conducted first. Any result less than 0.02 alcohol concentration is considered a “negative” test. If the alcohol concentration is 0.02 or greater, a second confirmation test must be conducted. The employee and the individual conducting the confirmation breath test (BAT) complete the alcohol testing form to ensure that the results are properly recorded. The confirmation test, if required, must be conducted using an EBT that prints out the results, date and time, a sequential test number, and the name and serial number of the EBT to ensure the reliability of the results. The confirmation test results determine any action taken. Upon confirmation of an individual’s alcohol concentration of 0.02 or greater, the individual is informed that their designated employer representative will be contacted via telephone immediately. The employer representative is informed via telephone that their employee has a positive breath alcohol test and the employer must arrange for transportation for the employee.
